Perseverance

“However good or bad a situation is, it will change”

One day,  I had a lunch with my friends, T and K. Not so long after the graduation announcements or we often call it ‘Judicium’. Our conversation turned into a lil bit serious when he said, “Do you know the day I won’t forget for the rest of my life? It’s ‘The Announcement Day’.”

“Can you imagine when you’re stated as ‘Didn’t pass’ in presence of the whole lecturers and all the examinees?” he continued. “It’s like losing all your energy inside. That’s the day I didn’t wanna go outside, I didn’t wanna open the ‘recent updates’ on my Blackberry and saw the others put the ‘Chemical Engineer’s Title’ behind their ‘Display Name’, the day i didn’t wanna open Facebook and saw the hapiness on their status, the day I didn’t meet anyone.”

I have ever been on his position, I absolutely know what it is feel like. It happened this August. I even remembered the date, August, 10th, when my advisor said I can’t take the final project this semester which means I can’t graduate this semester too. I felt empty, I lose all of my hopes, I cried and I just kept silent all day long. Fortunately, I still have friends, they supported me, they said ‘It’s not the end of anything’. 

I feel disappointed, I didn’t wanna meet everyone, I just stay in my room all day long. Then I found one of my fave author’s timeline on Twitter. She wrote biographies of some famous people in Indonesia.  She said “All the people I wrote their biography say: When your life is getting hard, you’re prepared for something better” 

Failure and obstacle are close to each other, what can defeat them is perseverance. We never be alone, everyone makes mistake. I can’t say it’s easy to pass through the hard times, but we’ll never rise if we never fall. God will make everything beautiful in His time. God bless the rest of my college life.
